Culinary ProgramsAt The Art Institute of California — Hollywood, you will find like-minded students-artists who think like you and are excited by the energy you bring. Many of our students come right out of high school, while some have tried different college programs and others are embarking on a career change. What draws these individuals to The Art Institute of California — Hollywood, is a passion for their art — as well as the desire to channel that passion into a career.

The Art Institute of California — Hollywood is designed with the creative student in mind. We keep close watch on emerging trends and technology, so you will find computer labs with industry-relevant hardware and software, resource centers and libraries with program-specific materials, and many other professional tools to aid you in the pursuit of your art and design education.

Culinary Programs Offered:

Culinary Arts
In the Culinary Arts program, you’ll have an opportunity to gain practical experience in the kitchen while studying the business of cost control, sanitation and safety, menu and beverage management, nutrition, and kitchen management. You’ll have an opportunity to learn to produce food quickly and in quantity while working with others. Graduates are prepared to seek entry-level employment such as line cook and pantry cook (garde manger).

Culinary Management
How does a restaurant run? There’s the cuisine – but there’s also management to oversee the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, dining room, and staff. The Culinary Arts & Restaurant Management program balances culinary theory and practice. Students learn cooking, baking, communications, and management skills. Graduates are prepared to seek entry-level employment such as prep cook, line cook, assistant food service manager, and assistant food and beverage manager.

* Evening and Weekend Option: Introducing the Evening and Weekend option at The Art Institutes. Now students can earn some degrees during evenings and weekends, with an online and on-ground format.
